Nai Harn Beach is a small beach located on Phuket. It offers clean sand, shady trees on its outskirts and many shops and restaurants under palm trees just off its shore. Nai Harn Beach is a great place for viewing a sunset, spending a few hours in the sun or to go for a swim. The waters are usually very calm and there is a relaxing atmosphere with little annoyance from beach vendors.

Big Buddha Phuket is probably the largest Buddha you will ever see in your life. The funny thing is, it has to be called Big Buddha Phuket because in Thailand there are several Big Buddhas. The Thais are a bit lacking when it comes to naming things so its understandable that no matter what province you go to there is a Big Buddha. But this Big Buddha in Phuket is more like a huge Buddha, a massive Buddha even dare I say an epic Buddha?

The Historic Ruins of Ayutthaya
Located about 70 kilometers North of Bangkok, the UNESCO Heritage site of the city of Ayutthaya is a must see if you are in the area. The 15 square kilometer site is full of ruins of the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam. The city served as the capital as well as a prosperous trading port from 1350 to 1767. It met its demise when the Burmese burned and plundered the area, cutting the heads from many Buddha statues and stripping the temples of their coveted gold.

Parasailing in Phuket
If you have visited any of the major beaches in Phuket then surely you have noticed there are an abundance of parasailing operations working from sunrise until sunset. They spend the day pulling tourists around the coves, dangling from a parachute for a quick thrill. Quick is the key word here, the average ride is about 4 minutes long.

Phuket Aquarium
The Phuket Aquarium is located in the mid-western part of Phuket Thailand in Cape Panwa. It offers a variety of aquatic life from around Thailand and Phuket. Outside there are some mangrove trees and other vegetation as well as a sea turtle habitat. The aquarium boasts that it is educational, although I didn't find myself learning anything while I was there. It is however an inexpensive way to spend some time out of the sun and is a good value for the price. For a couple hundred baht you can easily spend an hour or 2 walking the interior and exterior of the aquarium viewing aquatic life in tanks.

Discovering Japan
When finding out I would be going to Japan I knew there were so many things we needed to explore. Japan is such a fascinating country I want to explore everything. With Nick being here for 2 years I already know he will be able to find lots for us to do. Before leaving, however, I had to do some research of my own. Not only that, but Japan is very different from America, so I wanted to make sure I didn't make a fool of myself, or worse, show anyone any disrespect.

Dino Sea World Park
Dino Sea World Park is a large water park located minutes North of the island province of Phuket in Thailand in Phang Nga. It takes about an hour an a half to get there from Patong if there is no traffic and you leave early in the morning. Dino Sea World Park hosts a variety of activities for the whole family. For kids there is a massive play area with many small water slides and mini obstacle courses. For adults there are some larger slides as well as a giant inflated obstacle course and a large, 10 meter deep pool with a Tyrannosaurus Rex high dive platform.
