Windmill Viewpoint Phuket
Located in Rawai just past Karon View Point heading South or just past Promthep Cape heading North, Windmill Viewpoint is one of the best places to sit and watch a sunset.

Coronavirus in Bangkok
Even though most of the reviews, posts and videos you see are based in Phuket and even the brand name is Lovin' it in Phuket I normally don't spend all my time there while in Thailand. Phuket is cool and absolutely beautiful but it is exhausting to live there. The longest I ever managed to stay there is about 6 months. Patong especially is just not a place where a normal human being can function unless they have some stake in a business there. To put it in perspective, it's like living in high school or a bad after school special. So generally I hang my hat in one of the quieter provinces in the North East or Bangkok while I edit videos, write reviews and generate my posts. It's much easier to get work done, have normal relationships and the internet and electrical issues are non-existent.

You may wonder what Singapore is like. You may have heard the good and the bad of it. I believe that Singapore is one of the greatest cities in the world and everyone should at least visit once in their lifetime before your last breath. There are so many beautiful places to see and eat. No matter how small the country or the negative aspects you have been told. They are wrong. Even as a local, there are places to explore and places you have not been to.

Cascades Boutique Resort
Price Range: Moderate Experience: Resort, Quiet Travel Type: Couples, Family, Solo, Business The last time I stayed in Rawai I found a gem of a place to stay called the Cascades Boutique Resort. The property is nestled away off the main road but still within a ten minute walk up to the beach. They have a pool, restaurant, spacious rooms and offer motorbike rentals. The manager is a great guy, very friendly and speaks English, French and some Thai. I don't think there is anywhere else I would rather stay if I was vacationing in Phuket and looking for a quiet time.

Rawai Beach
Rawai is one of the nicest areas on Phuket in my opinion. It's quiet, the resorts I have stayed at there are reasonably priced and I never have had a problem finding really good Thai or Farang foods there. It is home to Rawai Landing Pier my number on pick for places to watch and photograph sunrises (see my article here) and several unnamed beaches along the west coast of Phuket that are quite nice and tourist free. Rawai Beach on the other hand is not even in my top ten favorite beaches on Phuket.

Promthep Cape Phuket
Promthep Cape is the most Southern point in Phuket. It offers a large park like area with a lighthouse and cobblestone courtyards, a paved roadway and view point area and an extreme terrain path to trek out to the Southern point. Along the coast and out to the point are rocky shores constantly being bombarded with rough surf, small whirlpools and a rip tide that makes the area a place where you can never swim. During a storm in fact you can see huge 3 meter waves roll in at the point and crash into each other out in the open water.

Karon Beach
Karon beach, what a lovely place. If you go at the right time of year when there are few people and the surf is high you feel like you are in a post card. If you go at the right time of day as the sun sets over the ocean, during tourist season it's like being on the cover of a romance novel. Although its a very large and very busy beach, Karon beach is one of my favorites for swimming, photographing and visiting.
