Phoning Texas
Yesterday I tried a WhatsApp call with a great friend in Texas. We speak and chat on an almost daily basis and care greatly for each other , but yesterday the video was just not playing at all. So we actually had a WhatsApp phone call. This is inspired by that phone call, I hope you enjoy it.

When our brains feel happy, endorphins are produced and neuronal signals are transmitted to your facial muscles to trigger a smile. ... When our smiling muscles contract, they fire a signal back to the brain, stimulating our reward system, and further increasing our level of happy hormones, or endorphins.

Know What's Frightening? Xenophobia

Being A Man
I was born in the fifties and brought up in an environment where misogyny and racism were the norm and very acceptable , practiced on a daily basis. Growing up I cannot remember any non white kids in primary or secondary school , maybe that’s selective memory, but looking back that is really strange.

Passionate Friend
I was thinking , how does my Muse make it so that I can get and channel ideas. Almost everyone else has no effect on me whatsoever, and while working today I was listening to “Wilder” by The Teardrop Explodes and then Julian Cope and the band launched into the gorgeous “Passionate Friend” and then struck me , my Muse is passionate about everything that matters to them , in the most positive way,

Cat Girls
I don’t do pets , I don’t mind pets , but like children as long as I can give them back to their owners. Cats are independent and dogs are faithful and loving. On Facebook and in real life I have so many female friends who have one or more cats, I won’t name you but am going to try a new poetic form for me as a tribute to all of you.

Jim
We lost an amazing friend this week to Cancer , it hit very quickly. He was out for lunch last Wednesday and this hit him at the weekend and by Monday we had lost him. He was cheerful right to the end, although he must have been in pain , oh , and he was 101.
