The Veil Grows Thin

An Acrostic Poem

By Gabriel HuizengaPublished 2 years ago β€’ 1 min read
Sunrise over the Maasai Mara.

So very rare,

Intimate, and

Lovely, when

Everything stills, and

Nothing interrupts this

Calm, true, and healing quiet.

Eternity touches the temporal, there.

Another impressive and wonderful acrostic, Gabriel! The title and the final line bookended this piece so perfectly! In such a moment of stillness and beauty like the one in your incredible photo the veil feels very thin indeed

I think I might have to get Joe to write my comments.

  • β€œ Eternity touches the temporal”- like others have said, it’s a lovely way to phrase it, and contrast the difference between now and everything else. I like how this isn’t crammed full of words, but they’re carefully picked.

Your right, Gabriel. It's rare to find quiet anymore. At least without noise cancelling headphones! This is a lovely poem. I especially loved your final line. I like the idea that there is a hidden plane where the eternal and the temporal meet.
