-*-
Well, you are correct,
I lustily called for you,
When I was at the bottom
And couldn't handle the truth.
-*-
When my pain was unbeaten
And the end came about
I pierced crying your name
Like an old-time devout.
-*-
But you took your time,
To walk up towards me;
And while I was waiting
I weighed down on my knees.
-*-
She took shape in my mind
And her warmth fought the cold
Gave redress to my cravings
Lending arms; taking hold.
-*-
I'm far better by now, after talking to her,
I was crying from the pain, impuissant to defer.
She extended her hand and replevied my soul
When my brain was morose, and my zest paid the toll.
-*-
Well, you are correct,
I lustily called for you,
When I was yelling out loud,
Trampling glass with no shoes.
-*-
I caught sight of your gate
And the path had my name
I took the key and sat down
This was no longer a game.
-*-
But you took your time,
To crop up towards me;
All that waiting is over,
I'm no longer in need.
-*-
She softly gave me the push
And planted a goal in my view
I came back with a purpose
No more leeway for you.
-*-
I'm far better by now after talking to her,
I was crying from the pain, impuissant to defer.
She extended her hand and replevied my soul
When my brain was morose, and my greed paid the toll.
-*-
Well, you are correct,
I lustily called for you;
But now I'm reclaimed,
That's the apodictic truth.

Oohh, this is so intense! I kinda love when someone goes from begging at the door to realizing they built their own key. Also “trampling glass with no shoes” is wild. That line hurt me a little. ✨
