Panic

Panic attacks can make you feel like your breaking inside, like your heart and mind are screaming silently

By Abi Rose TravisPublished about 18 hours ago 1 min read

It starts within her fragile chest

a weight that will not let her rest

Her heart protests with aching sound

yet nowhere safe can now be found

The tears arrive, a sudden flood,

her pulse a drum beneath her blood

She reaches out for something near

to hold herself against the fear

At times, the shower hides her cries

steam rising up to veil her eyes

She folds to tile, her breathing slight

lost in the maze of endless night

But somewhere past the edge of fright

her soul still flickers, finding brightness

a fragile glow, a spark of rightness

that aches to turn the dark to light
