3 Painting Where the Eyes Will Haunt You
Some believe that the eyes are the gateway to the soul. This is based on a reading of Matthew 6:22–24, which states, "The eye is the light of the body." However, I feel that the eyes are a doorway to something deeper. What could be more profound than one's soul? In my secular opinion, the most profound of human "possessions" are emotions. And the more fragile they are, the more valuable we believe them to be.

Character Sketches: Harry Potter
As a latecomer to the series, I started reading the entire Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling after I watched the first movie, if that tells my readers anything about my knowledge of the Harry Potter world. I did not grow up on these books, but picked them up right at the end of college. I’ve listened to the entire audio version several times since then. Though I missed some of my generation’s icons growing up, I am happy to share some of the book series’s classic (and complex) characters through my sketches of Hogwarts students! Artist & creation: should we separate creators from their art?
The question of whether or not we should view art separately from the artist (and our perception of them) is as old as time. Perhaps now more than ever we are faced with this question on a monthly, if not weekly basis. Cancel culture has become ingrained in society and controversies surrounding celebrities grow exponentially. However, not many people know that many artists whom we admire for their contributions to art history used to have quite controversial views too. Back then, people were also questioning whether or not we should separate the artists from their creations, history is now the judge of how things turned out for them. I will be looking at a couple of examples that I found striking.

The L Word's Bette Porter Art Lesson
It's been a while since I became aware of the possibilities of living with ADHD and dyslexia in some form (undiagnosed, so I'm not sure). I enjoy thinking, reading, and writing. But I'm having a hard time with it. It's difficult to concentrate without the words springing to life and dancing the samba right before my eyes. However, I've always felt like I had a means to express myself, even if it was just in a passive way: art. Admiring art in particular.
