The Beach
“Best get going, then!” Tom eased his rucsac more comfortably on his shoulder and straightened up. The tail lights on the train flickered as it disappeared round a curve and headed towards Southport. His three companions nodded and followed suit Words were unnecessary, as well as being a waste of effort on that sweltering summer afternoon. Helen could feel the heat of the flagstones seep through the soles of her trainers: standing still in any spot for longer than absolutely necessary was not a good idea. The four friends jogged off on the final stretch of roadway separating them from the natural, unmapped tracks and trails under the cool leafshade of Formby Woods.

National weather service
event. Adam Taylor, Cleveland TN, April 12 (Easter), 2020 I grew up both a little frightened and excited by storms and tornadoes. My mamaw and great grandmother were both horrified of storms, probably an undiagnosed case of lilapsophobia or astraphobia. For me, the sound of the nuclear plant sirens being used as tornado sirens was the scariest. Anyway, I began to study and learn as much about severe weather as I could. In the 8th grade, a tornado hit our small town and killed one man. I sat by a wall in my classroom that was mostly glass windows and there was some communication between classrooms that our county was under warning, but we never went into the hallway. I actually stopped the lesson and told the teacher that the sky was turning an ugly, almost evil, green color. My teacher said, "class, I don't think we are in Kansas anymore." It touched down less than a mile from us.

Despondent
There is only a few of you left, you are beaten down and exhausted from watching your homes go up into flames and your loved ones murdered right in front of you. I didn’t mean to do this but you made me unfortunately. As my waves crash all over the land and swallow everything in its path, all you can hear is the screaming of those left around you but you can’t get away from me. You don’t have any where else to go anymore. My body starts to shake and crack. So everything falls, everything you’ve ever known into the deepest levels of hell. I can’t help it, you made me do this. You have left me no other choice. You set off the weapon and it ruined me. Demolishing every beautiful thing I created. You disintegrated your own kind just for greed, and power. You can never turn back now. I can’t help but be disappointed in you. You caused enough damage already, can’t you see that I’m dying?

The Golden Locket
It was a normal typical day, just like any other day. So I originally thought to myself; basically by the time I got moving around. The feelings would come rushing in so fast that I wouldn’t have time to distract myself from them. That dreaded feeling of doom would linger over me like there is no tomorrow as I got ready for work one last time. Thinking about the red dragon in flames falling from the sky destroying parts of China and in golfing parts of America in its wake. That nightmare of a dream, the last time I warned everyone and nothing happened I still get spray painted loser in big red letters painted on my door. So I’m going to keep quiet and not say anything because nobody will believe me anyway, no matter what I do it's always the same.

What does it mean to be successful today?
The old answers to the question of how to be successful are being re-evaluated. Money. That was the answer from the 19th and 18th centuries. And the 20th century’s answer? Materialism. Big house. *thumps chest* Big Car. *grunts, engine revving*

The Climate War: Don’t Be Fooled, Trust the Science.
Psst. What have you, yourself personally done for the environment lately? Wrong question! That’s the question the oil companies, big tech and the fossil fuel industry want you to ask. Because it takes the heat off them.

It’s Raining Mice!
In the past two years we, as in Australians have endured drought almost continuously; huge, devastatingly terrifying fires; the wretched pandemic and, now we have a plague of mice, rodents that are relentlessly moving down from Queensland and heading via New South Wales towards Victoria.
