In the year 1948, Ivan and Elena, both branded as criminals by the authorities, found themselves banished from their homeland of Poland. Their lives had been entangled with illicit activities, and the long arm of the law had finally caught up with them. Forced to flee, they sought refuge in the vast and remote region of Siberia.
