Bio
Hi there! My name's Maddy and I'm an aspiring author. I really enjoy reading modernised fairy tales, and retellings of classic stories, and I hope to write my own in the future. Fantasy stories are my go-to reads.

History in the Making
My high school history teachers, Mr Bring and Mrs Toll, taught me all the important things I needed to know to pass the high school exam. I got a B, which wasn’t bad compared to some of my other grades, however I kinda wished I could have done better.

Where can they turn now?. Runner-Up in Pride Under Pressure Challenge.
There was a boy at my school who wanted to be heard. The first time I met him was in the middle of the stairs. He’d walked out of the lesson, because the teacher read his deadname from the register. It was the first week back after summer break, and it hadn’t yet been changed. And when he raised this to the teacher, all he got back was a shrug, and a comment from his desk-mate about being difficult.

A Night To Remember
You step out of the carriage onto a dark gravel pathway. It curves from the end of the driveway up to the steps before the golden, ornate front doors of the Palace. Your shoe wobbles precariously on the uneven stones, so you start walking, slow and uneven, to the staircase. Lit with thousands of candles, it releases a sweet vanilla scent into the air around you.

Heart Break
I knew my dad was different the day after his transplant. I wasn’t allowed to see him until mid afternoon, after they’d checked his stitches for the millionth time, did an ultrasound to check it’s position, and handed him a mountain of meds to take.

Diary of an Area 51 Worker
January 14th 2 weeks into my transfer to the ‘real Area 51’, and I’m starting to realise why they don’t want anyone to find this place. I’m still recovering from the flight – it took three days for everyone on that plane to get back to normal. The Bermuda Triangle is no joke, I really thought I was going to die when those alarms started sounding. No memory after that, not until I woke up in that dreadful white room. They said that’s the ‘normal’ way of getting here, through the Triangle. I don’t know why a boat isn’t good enough.

Lifeless Intelligence. Top Story - January 2025.
You wake to the repeating sound of birds singing on a loop outside your bedroom window at precisely 5.30am. Trying your best to ignore the noise that grates against your ears, you roll over in bed and pull the covers over your head to dull the noise.
