When Kama Knocked

I got the kiss, the punch, and the bruises,

Your love was a blade wrapped in a promise,

I wore the purple proof beneath my silence,

And still I stood when the room went cold.

You thought I would crumble under your shadow,

Thought I would beg for the crumbs of your mercy,

But pain is a teacher with a ruthless hand,

And I learned my lessons well.

I carried the weight of your temper and lies,

Carried the nights that tasted of fear,

You fed on control like it kept you alive,

Yet I was the one who endured.

Every mark faded, every scar sealed over,

Skin remembers but it does not surrender,

My heart beat loud in the dark of that house,

Refusing to die for your pride.

You laughed at the word called consequence,

Mocked the warning written in my eyes,

But fate keeps a ledger none can erase,

And the debt came due at your door.

I survived, breathing hard but unbroken,

You died when Kama knocked on your door,

Not by my hand, not by my anger,

But by the life you chose to live.

I am still here, fierce and breathing,

With strength carved deep in my bones,

You are a lesson I no longer carry,

And I walk forward, undefeated.
