I show them the heavy, jagged pieces.

Instead of recognizing the sharp edges and torn flesh,

they drape a proverb over the bleeding.

They blame the victim.

They weaponize the Divine.

They frame their hatred as my spiritual failing.

-

They use God like an eraser,

scrubbing away the uncomfortable truth of the wound,

because the sight of it demands an empathy

they are not willing to give.
