Ozzfest return

In a previous article i wrote regarding Ozzfest I wrote about how I don't think that Ozzfest should return with Ozzy and quite frankly I still don't. However, I have looked at it from both sides of the aisle as they say and though i stand by my point of view i also see that Ozzfest should carry on and it would be a great way to carry on and honor Ozzy's name and legacy and also still fly the flag for heavy music and metal as it had always done.

Ozzfest is a way of life and if you are into heavy music and metal it is a right of passage to go to at least one Ozzfest in your life and I was lucky and fortunate to have been able to attend Ozzfest the year it was free and Ozzy was still with us in the physical and i guess that is where my initial point of view on this issue is born from. The night before i had wrote this article the masked singer a popular musical and singing program on FOX had done a special tribute to Ozzy and the Ozzfest festival. It was cool and a tribute fit for the Prince of Darkness.

From another view point Ozzfest will continue to introduce new Metal music and new acts to the world the way that had always done in years gone by. However, it would be bitter sweet and solumn and sad to realise that Ozzy won't be there to close the festival as he had always done before. Ozzfest is an institution and another way in which Ozzy and his music will live on and and it is also true that Ozzy lives! I guess on its own as a festival Ozzfest has entered into another incarnation to carry on Ozzy's legacy is it's new mission if so God speed!

Ozzfest in my opinion is the festival that ushered in a new era of festivals for heavy music and metal as a whole and Ozzfest set the standard and that is really all there is to it. On Ozzfest there was a union of the new school and the old school of rock and metal rocking out together as one big metal family. Ozzy's daughter Kelly even met her significant other on the festival too.

I am looking at everything the wrong way, perhaps but that is how i feel initially and now Ozzfest has become and will become a celebration of the icon the man the myth the legend mr Ozzy Osbourne the immortal Prince of Darkness, period amen.

Just as a random side note one year Wicked Wisdom which is Jada Pinkett smith metal band was on the Ozzfest bill and it was a suprise and a little out of the ordinary to see Will Smith there I saw that on tv. Ice T and his metal hip hop outfit Body count also performed on the festival as well .

Ozzfest is a festival that did change many a bands lives they would go from obscurity to fame if the band was lucky to be able to play the Ozzfest mainstage which was the same stage Ozzy and his band would perform and close out each day of the festival. As i write this I don't feel the same vibe that i once had mainly because Ozzy is no longer there yes there will now be a void that only Ozzy could fill. Ozzfest is a festival that has always been a world of its own and not just a festival now it is its own entity like that of its founding father Ozzy Osbourne and founding mother Sharon Osbourne.
